Nicknamed “Magnifico,” Mark Magsayo is one of the most electrifying fighters to emerge from the Philippines in recent years. Known for his devastating power and sharp combinations, Magsayo brings a relentless fighting style reminiscent of his idol, Manny Pacquiao.
Born in Tagbilaran City, Bohol, Magsayo began boxing at age 8 and quickly rose through the ranks of the amateur circuit. Under the guidance of Freddie Roach and Sean Gibbons (MP Promotions), he transitioned to the world stage with a string of highlight-reel knockouts.
In 2022, he realized his dream by defeating the long-reigning champion Gary Russell Jr. to capture the WBC Featherweight World Title, joining the proud tradition of Filipino world champions. His speed, grit, and heart continue to make him a fan favorite and a dangerous contender in the featherweight and super featherweight divisions.

Manny Pacquiao Promotions was established in 2006 founded by then-three-division world champion Manny Pacquiao. Sean Gibbons is currently its president and official matchmaker. The promotions aim to help young aspiring boxers especially in the Philippines.
MP Promotions promoted its first major event on July 2, 2006 where Pacquiao defended his WBC International super featherweight title against Óscar Larios which was held at the Araneta Coliseum in Quezon City, Philippines.
